LEAKAGE CONTROL

The general building authority approval for earthen dam basins with leakage detection equipment stipulates that the system consists of two sealing levels and has a leakage control room with a leakage detection device.

The bottom of the earthen dam basin has a slope – and thus a low point. A leakage mat is laid between the two sealing sheets in order to drain the liquid to the low point. At this point, the leakage detection device is placed between the sealing levels.

Should leakage occur, this is indicated by the leakage detection device. The leakage is then caught by the lower sealing level, thereby preventing penetration into the ground.
